LOAD BALANCING

Load balancing restricts the number of orders that can be placed during a set time. EXAMPLE: My kitchen can only prepare 5 orders within a 10 minute time frame. You would set your Maximum Orders per Period to 5 and the Load-Balancing Period to 10

  • To add load balancing, To adjust the wait time by Order Type, go to OrderCloudOnline.com > Manage Stores > Select a Location > Hours tab, enter the maximum number of orders to allow in Maximum Orders per Period you want to allow in a specific time frame enter 5 min, 10 min, 15 min, 30 min, 1 hr, 2 hrs, or 4 hrs in Load-Balancing Period and click Save.

ADJUST LOAD BALANCING FOR SPECIFIC HOURS OF THE DAY

  • To add load balancing by time of day and menu, on the Hours tab, add another day entry set the TIME period to set the adjusted load balancing. Enter the maximum number of orders to allow in Maximum Orders per Period you want to allow for this time frame, select the time period to allow these orders from the drop down for Load-Balancing Period (5 min, 10 min, 15 min, 30 min, 1 hr, 2 hrs, or 4 hrs) and click Save.

  • You will need to adjust your original times around this new time period. You may need to enter a new time period at the end of this Load-Balancing Period you added for the remainder of the day.

See Example:

On Friday between 5:00pm to 7:00 pm need to restrict the amount of orders from ToGo because my dining room is very busy. I added two additional time spans for Friday. My first time span is from Open at 8:00am until 5:00pm and I do not restrict amount of orders.

At 5:00pm I want to restrict the ToGo orders to allow only 10 orders per 30 minutes until 7:00pm. After 7:00pm I want to remove the restrictions.

I added two new hour spans for my Main Menu
