Refer to How to add images to items as the URL syntax for linking an image from Google Drive no longer works. A new sharing link format is available in the above linked document. If you have the proper format and the images are in the proper location make sure that the image permissions are public allowed. Is the image an extremely large size, reduce the size of the file.

Ideally, food images should be 500 KB and 500x500 pixels.
